Arterial pulses in the extremities were normal and no cyanosis, clubbing, or edema was noted.
We concluded that these abnormal waves represented artifact that corresponded to the arterial pulse on the patient's face.
The purposes of palpation were to look for diminution in the pulse amplitude of the LEs and to check for asymmetry in the strength of the arterial pulse from one extremity to the other.
