ASCOT
Ascot o Royal Ascot es una competición de carreras de caballos que dura cuatro días y se celebra en junio en el hipódromo de Ascot, cerca del castillo de Windsor, en el sur de Inglaterra. Es uno de los acontecimientos más importantes en el calendario hípico británico, y también lo es a nivel social, pues a él acuden miembros de la realeza y la clase alta británica. La familia real hace acto de presencia en carruajes, y sigue las carreras desde una zona reservada llamada Royal Enclosure. Se considera un gran honor ser invitado a ella y los invitados han de observar estrictas normas de etiqueta. En el día conocido como Ladies Day (el Día de las Damas), es tradicional que las mujeres vayan a las carreras luciendo sombreros y vestidos espectaculares.
