Seitz and Kleinkort, with auricular point laser stimulation, demonstrated a temperature decrease at the point of distal dysfunction, which they believed was indicative of a decrease in inflammation.
Studies performed by Oliveri et al,[8] Krause et al,[9] and Noling et al[10] showed that low frequency, high intensity TENS applied to appropriate auricular points increased experimental pain threshold in healthy subjects.
These pain scales were completed immediately before treatment before the first measurement of conductance at auricular points and immediately posttreatment in the presence of the investigator before the second measurement of conductance.
