VALENCIA -- College of the Canyons has been awarded a $344,000 grant by the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office to develop and deliver an automotive technology program. Until 2004, students in EVIT's automotive technology program had worked on lawnmowers, go-carts and golf carts but had not had a chance to convert a car. Detroit's rich history in automotive technology and industrial manufacturing provided the perfect backdrop for the SLCC and afforded conference attendees the opportunity to tour the Ford River Rouge Plant and the Henry Ford Museum. |
