I think it's sad that Sheriff Lee Bacca may have had the money all along to avoid early release of inmates but might have used the overcrowding as an excuse to raise taxes.
During a Town Hall Meeting hosted by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department (LASD) in May, Sheriff Lee Bacca reported excellent results from the LASD's gunfire detection/high-speed notification system, which has had a positive impact on the county's efforts to thwart illegal gunfire and increase community involvement against criminal activity.
