There remains an issue over cell-phone photographs taken of Rucker's former girlfriend, Joelle Barchan, which allegedly show bruises on her. Barchan dunes are massive, crescent-shaped sand piles that move across windswept deserts at speeds up to tens of meters per year. The pace of an offensive in the desert depends to a great extent on how well the troops can overcome natural obstacles especially barchans and solonchaks, rock outcrops (smaller ones are normally by-passed) covered by the enemy fire. |
