It follows a national row over battery farming which is branded cruel by campaigners including actress Joanna Lumley, who once drove a tractor through London in protest at farm animal welfare standards.
They played tracks from their eponymous first album, including the end-of-gig favourite about a monster Slark, and promoted their second LP Friendliness, combining evocations of a bygone or Betjemanesque England, a reggaeish number called Amazingly Agnes, and a blues-rock attack on battery farming (I think) called Keep On Clucking.
Tesco's move comes in the wake of a campaign by celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall who featured in a TV series last month, urging the middle classes to boycott cheap chicken in protest at the cruelty of battery farming.
