A sweetener made from beet sugar that lends stability and heat resistance to recipes.
Among sweeteners that encourage the growth of acidic plaque are barley malt, beet sugar, brown sugar, cane sugar, date sugar, fructose, fruit juice, honey, malt syrup, raw sugar, sorbitol, turbinado sugar and a host of other "natural sugars.
9 cents per pound for beet sugar and 18 cents for cane sugar, while the world spot price for raw cane sugar is currently about 10 cents per pound.
