Impressions Of New York: Prints From The New York Historical Society serves a dual purpose: it provides a companion to an exhibition celebrating the Historical Society's bicentennial anniversary, gathering a selection of historic images of the city from 1672 to present; and it also serves as a stand-alone volume capturing the images and written stories of the people and places of the city. In recognition of the bicentennial of Hans Christian Andersen's birth, this issue's "Cadenza" displays one of his distinctive paper cuttings (see Beth Wagner Brust's "On the Cover" on pages 649-651). FREE TO TEACHERS: The National Council of the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial has designed more than 50 lesson plans for your classroom, with curriculum links to current NCSS, NSTA, and NCTE standards. |
