Harris won the American Bicycle Association's Pro Title for BMX - bicycle motocross, which originated in the 1970s with bicycles racing along dirt courses over hills and jumps like off-road motorcycle racing - for his performance in 27 National Series competitions against more than 200 of the world's top riders. Barrick says stunt bike riders, or freestyle Bicycle Motocross (BMX) riders, prefer higher transition sections of skateparks, such as street spines and larger half pipes, because they can use those ramps to jump higher and perform more complicated tricks. Bicycle Motocross began in Southern California in the early 1970's. |
