The mangroves in West Andros support species as diverse as bonefish, snapper, grouper, spiny lobster, tarpon and reef fish" Some of these fish remain in local waters, while other young fish tagged near Andros have been tracked for hundreds of miles.
In those spots, if you trained your eyes on the area where the clear water stranded off into the deeper green underbelly of the incoming waves, you'd see the most intimidating bonefish, the sovereign loners, a full yard long, which didn't need to slide into the knee-deep flats to nibble little stuff.
