The ANF has called on Premier Steve Bracks to intervene as the RDNS is funded $ 70 million by the Victorian Government annually.
Young Driver Safety', a discussion paper launched by Premier Steve Bracks in August, recommends an extensive overhaul of licensing for Victoria's young drivers, including: extension of the minimum period for the learner's permit from 6 to 12 months; two-stage probationary licences; extension of the P-plate period from 3 to 4 years; mandatory alcohol interlock devices fitted to the cars of P-platers who drink-drive and of drivers under 25 who exceed a blood alcohol concentration of .
Unfortunately this is the tip of the aged cared iceberg which will see the elimination of qualified nurses in this sector as a direct consequence of the Bracks Government's drugs and poisons laws which remove the obligation on aged care proprietors to employ nurses to administer medications to elderly residents,' Ms Brownrigg said.
