Willard Nash's untitled, undated watercolor labeled Cubist Road Through Trees is reminiscent of work by Cezanne, whose late painting style led Braque and Picasso to cubist concepts using short, bricklike brushmarks -- the constructive stroke -- and deliberate decompositions of solids into merging planes of architecture and nature.
