The objects have ranged from slender bridle bits to broad axheads, and they include such significant finds as the breastplate and a cabasset helmet. Greg Martin, an appraiser from San Francisco's Butterfield & Butterfield, informed her Saturday that the helmet was a 16th-century cabasset from Milan, Italy, forged from a single sheet of steel and covered with gold. |
