Capote, the celebrated author and toast of New York City's cafe society, takes an extended trip to a small town in Kansas where an entire family has been murdered. As I worked on the picture, I thought of the line, "It was a cafe society, where people talked and drank cocoa far into the night. The exhibit is organized into four thematic sections: Music and Dance, Celebration and Cafe Society, Gaming and Sport, and Flirtation and Romance, as represented by artists as diverse as Max Beckmann, Edgar Degas, Jean-Honore Fragonard, Pablo Picasso, Peter Paul Rubens, Jan Steen, Titian and Diego Velazquez. |
