Cardiac biopsy is an important diagnostic tool in patients with symptoms suggestive of cardiac amyloidosis, especially when extracardiac tissue is negative for amyloid.
Diagnosis of human cardiac allograft rejection by serial cardiac biopsy.
Myocarditis has also been postulated, however the lack of evidence on cardiac biopsy, (9) and atypical MRI (8) and ECG findings, make this unlikely.
