A condition of ingrowing hairs about an orifice, especially ingrowing eyelashes.

trichiasis [trɪˈkaɪəsɪs]
n Pathol
1. (Medicine / Pathology) an abnormal position of the eyelashes that causes irritation when they rub against the eyeball
2. (Medicine / Pathology) the presence of hairlike filaments in the urine
[via Late Latin from Greek trikhiasis, from thrix a hair + -iasis]

trichiasis
a condition in which the hair grows inward, especially the eyelashes.
