GENEVA, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- The Swiss giant pharmaceutical company, Novartis, officially inaugurated the US's first ever large-scale flu cell culture vaccine and adjuvant manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, North Carolina, with an investment of USD 1 billion.
Providing a complete biotechnology solution, these products can be used to optimize cell culture practices and experimental set-up.
An article on USM's website quotes Malaysia's former higher education minister, Datuk Mustapha Mohamed, as saying that the vaccine is critical for Muslims performing their hajj or umrah, since it is derived from plant cell culture rather than animal cell culture.
