Victoria Fuller, Miss January 1996, has come up with a novel way to celebrate Playboy magazine's 50th anniversary: paintings of centerfolds with their clothes on.
A December 29, 2003 profile by NRO contributing editor Andrew Stuttaford described Hefner as "tatty, tacky, jaded, and, let's admit it, a touch laughable, but an American original nonetheless"--an "ancient satyr" surrounded by adoring starlets and centerfolds.
The academic urban legend in question is that there has been a remarkable consistency in the waist-to-hip ratios (WHR) of both Playboy centerfolds and winners of the Miss America pageant.
