Giant chain fern (Woodwardia imbricata) is cold hardy and grows up to 7feet tall in Northern California, although it will probably not grow more than 4 feet tall in our area.
Presl WOODWARDIA Smith Chain Fern Rhizomes long, creeping; fronds 30-130 cm long, monomorphic or dimorphic; blades pinnatifid to pinnate-pinnatifid, ovate-deltoid to ovate-triangular; sori oblong in chain-like rows.
Sister to Chain Fern (unraced; dam of Gr1 winner Spanish Fern).
