SAVVIS offers us private multicast network services that, when combined with our channelizing technology, allows our customers to select the exchanges they need from our MEPS or directly from the exchanges and integrate the result at their facility. Channelizing subdivides the available bandwidth into smaller units (24 channels for T1 and 32 channels for E1) and multiplexes voice and data payload for more cost effective use of T1 or E1 phone lines. The incoming digital line goes to the CSU/DSU function and then data is passed along to either an APC card for protocol processing (clear channel -- all DS0s are treated as one data link) or an ACT card for channelizing of the DS0s. |
