Included in the evening's performances will be Les Chanteuses, a women's choir that focuses on music specifically written for the female voice; The Chamber Singers, a small mixed ensemble that specializes in madrigals and light jazz; Voices of the Canyons, the largest group, which focuses on large choral works with an orchestra; and the newest group, Just Jazz, which works on all styles of jazz literature, both a capella and accompanied by a musical trio.
As a special highlight that evening, Les Chanteuses will premiere a song from a new musical about the life of Joan of Arc, which is now being composed by College of the Canyons student Steven Ladd Jones.
A new, 16 member jazz choir will join the college's three existing choral groups - Les Chanteuses (a women's choir), Chamber Singers and Voices of the Canyons (a festival choir) - for a fast-paced evening of music in a variety of styles, with something for everyone's musical taste.
