It's in good condition with only a minor twist to the scroll, some minor splitting under the chin rest and warping of the finger board.
The violin is held with the left hand, with the chin on the chin rest supporting most of the weight, and the fingers loosely coiled around the neck of the violin.
The chin rest can be altered--simply change the shape of the gusset under it.
