CASTAGNA: This Milan-based coachbuilder, resurrected in 1995 by architect Cioacchio Acampora after a 40-year hiatus, debuted its Imperial Landaulet, a modern interpretation of the grand motorcars of the '20s and '30s. Built in Cerizay, France, by coachbuilder Heuliez, the Twin Top boasts an electro-hydraulic top mechanism that goes from open to closed in 18 seconds. It may also be argued that even in the early days of motoring when complete chassis were delivered to coachbuilders for body installation, the steering and the brakes (such as they were) were already installed. |
