The determination of the overall effectiveness of force employment during military operations. Combat assessment is composed of three major components: (a) battle damage assessment; (b) munitions effectiveness assessment; and (c) reattack recommendation. Also called CA. The combat assessment board (CAB) was the venue where the CFLCC assessed how well operational effects were being achieved.
