My first experience with DoD's land-management policies came 13 years ago when I was a student in the Air Force Combat Survival School in the Colville National Forest north of Spokane, Washington.
deployed combat survival radios as well as military and civilian emergency beacons up to 406 MHz, including COSPAS/SARSAT beacons.
