This theory conceptualises sportspersonship as a multidimensional construct. These assumptions about young people's lives reflect much of the literature on the nature and behaviours of young people or "adolescents" which conceptualises adolescence as a developmental phase characterised by an increase in risky behaviour. It follows from this that to assess press reportage in terms of whether or not it faithfully or distortedly reflects file reality it is said to refer to, misses its most fundamental characteristic--the particular way it represents or conceptualises that reality. |
