| Easily spotted are bats, arboreal porcupines, boa constrictors, and night-blooming orchids. When local pet owners find their boa constrictors or spinytail iguanas have outgrown their cages, or they tire of their anteaters and piranhas, they drive them to a nearby swamp or forest, where the creatures find freedom, and maybe even mates. Unlike most snakes, which lay eggs, boa constrictors give birth to fully developed young. |
