In studies reflecting results in tens of thousands of patient examinations, the predictive accuracy and high sensitivity of the EBT coronary artery scan for the detection of sub-clinical coronary artery disease has been confirmed in both asymptomatic subjects and in those with a higher likelihood of heart disease. The EBT coronary artery scan was shown to add unique and valuable prognostic information in these specific patients. This important research finding clearly demonstrates significantly better test specificity (the ability to produce a normal result in those persons without cardiac disease) for the EBT coronary artery scan for calcification than had previously been thought. |
