Productions of theatrical plays are collaborative efforts involving large numbers of people the include not only the actors and their director, but the expertise of playwrights, producers, stage hands, craftspeople, choreographers, musicians, publicists, make-up artists, costumers, and so many others. About 20 to 25 of the 30 crew positions -- from assistant directors to set managers and costumers -- are held by students. Many of the dancers, costumers, choreographers were gay, and of course there's a strong gay sensibility in the movies. |
