1. Any of various small whales, porpoises, or similar aquatic mammals, especially a whale of the genus Mesoplodon, having a pointed snout.
2. Any of various marine fishes of the family Ostraciidae, especially Lactophrys quadricornis of warm Atlantic waters, having hornlike spines over each eye.

Fish that look like cows--or at least did to the folks who named them cowfish (and these creatures do have long faces).
The longhorn cowfish is a small rotund creature with the chubby cheeks of Cyndi Lauper and movements that suggest it is powered by clockwork.
Catfish, mullet, jacks, croakers, cowfish, guitarfish, stingrays, crabs and crayfish, are common meals for the lemon shark.
