Doctors hope to expand the use of the technique, known as cryotherapy, in future.
Meanwhile, amateur rider Andrew Kinirons, who broke his left leg in a fall at Market Rasen in early April, is hoping to be back in the saddle in around four weeks after a rigorous regime to regain fitness that has included an oxygen chamber in Dublin and visits to the Cryotherapy Clinic in Wexford where physiotherapy has been carried out in tandem with brief sessions in the cubicle programmed for extremely cold temperatures.
I was in Wexford in the cryotherapy clinic last weekend which is supposed to be good.
