The position of a digit to the right of a decimal point, usually identified by successive ascending ordinal numbers with the digit immediately to the right of the decimal point being first: a figure accurate to the third decimal place.

The position of a digit to the right of the decimal point in a number written in decimal notation. In 0.079, for example, 0 is in the first decimal place, 7 is in the second decimal place, and 9 is in the third decimal place.

Pi can be calculated to as many decimal places as desired by formulas that are sums of infinitely many terms, such as [Pi]= 4/1 - 4/3 + 4/5 - 4/7 + 4/9 -.
In our original manuscript, we provided actual values up to one decimal place, but because of overlapping of the numbers in our Figure 2, we rounded off the values.
