In Queensland the drink-driving offences recorded for 17-24-year-old women went up by 63% for the period 1997 to 2003. `Public attitudes have changed on drink-driving and wearing seat-belts, so why not on this issue, too. There are a number of reasons for the ongoing fall in consumption, including growing health concerns, a more severe drink-driving policy and - above all - changing lifestyles, which have meant a reduction in drinking occasions, with the drinking habits of older consumers not being replicated in younger generations. |
