Well, 8 billion miles away and travelling at 27,000 mph, a little metal nugget that mankind drop-kicked into space is on its way, carrying such a message. Remarks made in the script by the lead character (no, not her--her husband) about gay people were considered so inflammatory (and, ultimately, fictional) that CBS drop-kicked the whole project over to queer and folksy Showtime. |
