During the trial it was revealed that DHS agent Christopher Sanchez, who along with Rene Sanchez shepherded Aldrete-Davila through his legal process, had learned that Aldrete-Davila's drug cartel associates had made plans to put together a "hunting party" to kill agents Ramos and Compean, and their families, in retaliation for the drug bust involving Aldrete-Davila.
