Abstract In developing countries, when patients with traumatic epistaxis cannot be adequately treated at their local medical facility and require further treatment at a distant tertiary care center, it is important that bleeding be controlled before their transport.
The cases are grouped into chapters by treatment and condition, such as the use of angioplasty and/or stenting to treat lesions of the various arteries in the neck and intracranial occlusive lesions; treatment using interventional thrombolytic and mechanical techniques to treat patients with acute, subacute, or progressive brain ischemia; aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms; vascular malformations; brain tumors; and severe epistaxis.
