Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH), sometimes also called pyogenic granuloma or epulis
gravidarum, is a benign overgrowth of capillaries showing a vascular phenotype.
Both pyogenic granulomas and pregnancy epulis
may mature and become less vascular and more collagenous, gradually converting to fibrous epulis
5,9-13 Pregnancy gingivitis is also associated with pregnancy epulis
or pregnancy granuloma which is a localized gingival swelling which regresses itself after pregnancy or may require a surgical course.
On basis of clinical examination, the case was tentatively diagnosed as acantomatous epulis
and decided for its surgical excision.
Granuloma gravidarum or pregnancy epulis
might occur that regresses postpartum.
Many of these lesions can be identified as specific entities on the basis of their histopathological features and are divided into irritational fibroma, epulis
fissuratum, squamous papilloma, giant cell fibroma, pyogenic granuloma and peripheral giant cell granuloma.
Metastasis to the soft tissues appear as dental or periodontal infection and they resemble reactive lesions or benign tumors such as pyogenic granuloma, epulis
, peripheral giant cell granuloma, and odontogenic infection.
These histopathological findings were compatible with congenital epulis
In this 50-year-old woman; a wide rugose cauliflower-like exophytic lesion on the attached gingiva in the anterior region thought to be epulis
fissuratum or a giant-cell granuloma turned out to be condyloma acuminatum following the excisional biopsy.
If it is an epulis
, any treatment your dog may need depends on a lots of dierent factors, such as what type of epulis
it is, how large it is, if the teeth are being buried by excess tissue and if the lump becomes infected due to damage when your dog eats.
