TALLINN -- The Confederation of Employers urged the Estonian government to carry out more extensive analyses on the impact an increase in the excise tax rates would have on the state budget and on the adoption of the euro, reports news agency LETA.
Examining data after the state's 1983 and 2002 alcohol tax increases, researchers found that "increases in alcohol excise tax rates were associated with immediate and sustained reductions in alcohol-related disease mortality in Alaska.
