The topics discussed in this volume are varied and interesting, but on the whole, the essays are only loosely connected, as is the nature of Festschriften.
Six festschriften were written in his honour, which show the depth and breadth of his influence in development studies, and the esteem and affection in which he was held.
I tried to express that these two Festschriften represent the affection and esteem we all hold for him and for the several ministries he carries on among us.
