A material consisting of extremely fine glass fibers, used in making various products, such as yarns, fabrics, insulators, and structural objects or parts. Also called spun glass.

fiberglass  (fbr-gls)
A material made up of very fine fibers of glass. Fiberglass is resistant to heat and fire and is used to make various products, such as building insulation and boat hulls. Because the fibers in fiberglass are capable of transmitting light around curves, fiberglass is an important component of fiber optics.

The new company, called PPG-Devold, will use Devold technology to make stitched multiaxial and unidirectional reinforcement fabrics for wind blades at PPG's fiberglass plant in Shelby, N.
The only exceptions are boats equipped with fiberglass gas tanks, which should be stored as empty as possible to avoid prolonged exposure to E10 gas which can damage the fiberglass.
