Other animals found in the park include crested serpent eagles, cheetahs, flycatchers, mongooses, langurs, stone curlews and wild boars as well as jungle fowls, fishing eagles, cobras, paradise flycatchers and panthers.
One can find huge flocks of pelicans, rose-ringed parakeets apart from crested serpent eagles, grey-headed fishing eagles, red jungle fowl, Bengal floricabs, bar-headed geese, whistling teals and swamp partridges.
To my right, in the shallows, our boatman pointed out the ever-patient grey heron, poised statue-like, waiting for a fish while harriers and another fishing eagle circled overhead in search of prey and a pied kingfisher hovered dramatically over the water in a flurry of wings.
