The kitchen pan-sears sole in a passion-fruit butter, serves pork ribs in a mango-pineapple sauce, covers its baked mahi-mahi with macadamia nuts and delivers a rum dessert flambe of banana, mango and pineapple on puff pastry. That evening we dined in the plush, art deco Normandie, which is distinguished for its decoupage, flambe tableside service and dine-in wine cellar featuring 175 fine vintages. There's also an excellent steak flambe with cognac pepper sauce, as well as a beaujolais menu with a variety of meats, desserts and drinks for a reasonable price. |
