A measure of the quantity of magnetism, being the total number of magnetic lines of force passing through a specified area in a magnetic field.

(Physics / General Physics) a measure of the strength of a magnetic field over a given area perpendicular to it, equal to the product of the area and the magnetic flux density through it. Symbol φ

1. The lines of force associated with a magnetic field. The strength of magnetic flux is equivalent to its magnetic flux density per unit area. The SI unit of magnetic flux is the weber.
