In support of Operation Mountain Fury, the US advisors and 15 ANA Soldiers moved to a forward operating base (FOB) near the Pakistani border where the anti-Coalition military (ACM) was active. Rusty Wilson is a professional journalist who wrote columns for the Orange County Register giving his firsthand observations of the conditions and people he met and worked with in Iraq while serving on a Forward Operating Base as a Morale, Recreation and Recreation staffer in support of the American troops. Although 16 soldiers from his forward operating base in Iraq have been killed, and a good friend of Schol's had his legs blown off there, Schol said he enjoys his job in the Army, in which he recently re-enlisted. |
