FPL Energy, LLC, a subsidiary of FPL Group (NYSE:FPL) said today that in an effort to meet the increased demand for highly skilled employees in the wind energy business in Texas and throughout the region it has formed a partnership with Texas State Technical College West Texas to educate and train students in wind turbine technology. FPL Energy, LLC, a subsidiary of FPL Group (NYSE:FPL), said today that it added more than 800 megawatts of wind projects to its portfolio in 2006 bringing its total installed capacity to 4,016 net megawatts. FPL was nominated for the award by the Area Agency for Aging of Southwest Florida, based on FPL's partnership in the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program. |
