According to general relativity theory, mass and energy are equivalent. Scientists will use NCSA's IBM eServer clusters to study a wide range of research problems, from how gas flows over surfaces at supersonic speeds to simulations of black hole collisions, which demonstrate principles of Einstein's General Relativity Theory. That would make dark energy resemble the cosmological constant, a term that Albert Einstein introduced into his general relativity theory in 1917 and quickly abandoned, but which physicists have resurrected several times since. |
