The yard had building slips up to 1,100 ft long, seven graving docks up to 860 ft in length and a 14-acre fitting-out basin.
NML is also working with a number of other organisations on the development and interpretation on the historic graving docks.
Restoration of the historic graving docks will be included in the redevelopment of the site and will be made the focal point of festivals and family fun days within the main area of public realm.
