They were identified as Melchior, an elderly Persian with a long beard bringing the gift of gold; Caspar, a young and beardless Indian offering frankincense, a royal fragrance; and Balthasar, a black Arabian bearing the gift of myrrh, a bitter gum resin valued for its medicinal purposes.
The company is augmenting the expansion with added resources in research and development, marketing and sales support for the gum resin business.
The acquisition will include the paper chemicals and resins business, a production unit in Kunsan (South Korea) as well as Dongsung's 70% interest in the gum resin producer Fengkai Dongsung Chemical Co Ltd, China.
