PALMDALE -- Winds gusted Thursday to more than 60 mph in the Antelope Valley, stirring up dust clouds and prompting warnings to drivers of high-profile vehicles.
During the evening and overnight hours of 6-7 April 1997, west winds gusted over 40 kt at some stations in northwestern Upper Michigan along and behind a secondary cold frontal passage in the wake of a deepening low pressure center in Ontario.
The National Weather Service said a north-northeast wind from 32 to 36 mph gusted in the canyons of Val Verde, Saugus and the Acton areas of north Los Angeles County.
